IF Collingwood versus Melbourne was not already going to be a big enough blockbuster, Melbourne winger, Ed Langdon has given the Pies some added incentive to make it 11 consecutive wins, after some cheeky comments on radio yesterday.
The MCG is expected to light up tonight when the sides battle it out in what is a massive game for both clubs, a huge crowd is expected.
Friday night footy, second and third on the ladder, some fiery comments and a healthy rivalry sets up tonight’s encounter to be a cracking game of footy.
Joining Andy Maher and Andrew Gaze on SEN 1116 on Thursday, the 26-year-old labelled Collingwood’s game style as “all duck, no dinner” in a dig at the way the side plays.
After losing to the Pies by 26 points earlier in the season, it is a big call from Langdon who will want to put together a good performance to back up his comments.
The Pies have a really good record against the Demons, the black and white has won six out of the last seven games against Melbourne - before 2020, Pies had won every game since back to 2017.
Langdon when asked about the tactics that he and his Melbourne teammates would look to implement in the clash, said they would be similar to last week’s game against Fremantle.
“They (Collingwood) are sort of all duck, no dinner in a sense that if they’re playing fast footy on their terms, they’re a very hard team to stop, but they’re a bit of a one-trick pony at times,” Langdon said.
“So hopefully we can dampen the way they want to play … there’s certainly a plan in place.”
PIES skipper, Scott Pendlebury celebrates back in round 13 when Collingwood defeated Melbourne by 26 points on the Queen's birthday clash.

Langdon also spoke about how the club’s defensive line was “definitely” the team’s biggest strength.
The club will look to Steven May and Jake Lever to perform well and dominate across the defensive half, intercept possessions will be key to stopping the fast game that the Pies do so well.
May averages 6.5 intercept possessions per game this season while Lever averages 7.7, they will be matched up well on Jordan De Goey and Darcy Cameron, while Angus Brayshaw will also play an important role if he spends time on the half-back line.
Langdon said the entire club was excited for the game and after trouncing Fremantle by 46 points last week, the winger implied that the group’s confidence was sky-high.
“I’ll probably line up on Steele (Sidebottom), who I’ve played a lot of footy against, he’s a terrific player,” he said.
Maher praised Langdon for having the courage to speak his mind despite the controversial comments causing uproar within the AFL community.
“Good on Ed Langdon for not swimming between the flags,” Maher said in a tweet.
“How much more interesting would the whole thing be if those on the game’s front line weren’t terrified to say something.”

Melbourne and Collingwood sit on 56 points with just percentage separating them and the winner of tonight’s game will be in second place on the ladder by the end of the round.
Brody Mihocek comes back into the side for the Pies while Taylor Adams misses the game with injury, Melbourne welcomes back full-forward, Ben Brown while Sam Weideman is omitted.
You’d think the Pies are due for a loss, however a bit of added motivation to get the result might be just what Collingwood needed to make it win number 11.
One thing is for certain, Langdon will get a frosty reception from some of the black and white army tonight.
